Mosquitoscratch walked along the dead pine and then sat down. He closed his eyes and silently wished Tigerstar would come. But he knew that wouldn't happen. Sighing, Mosquitoscratch jumped from the pine and sat again, on the ground.

Tigerstar padded alone, her green eyes showing bright in the light, her whiskers twitched as she stopped to join her mate.She licked his ear and pressed her pelt against his."Whats wrong?"she meowed, her voice curiouse.I don't get to see be with him anymore.I wish at times I wasn't deputy so I could have just had a normal life with him,she thought to herself.She closed her eyes and listioned to the wind till her mate talked to her.
